On May 6, the "Handmade in Shandong" Exhibition and Promotion Event (Italy) was held in Rome, sponsored by the Information Office of the Shandong Provincial People's Government and co-organized by the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province.

China and Italy are two cultural superpowers with profound cultural deposits and long-standing craft inheritance. Taking the "Handmade in Shandong" brand as the medium, the event aims to promote the creative transformation and innovative development of excellent traditional Chinese culture, promote civilizational exchanges and mutual learning, and strengthen cultural exchanges between the two countries. Six theme exhibition areas were specially set up at the event for time-honored brands and enterprises of local handicrafts from Jinan, Qingdao, Zibo, Zaozhuang, Yantai, Ji'ning, Linyi, Liaocheng, Binzhou, Heze, and other cities in Shandong Province to display and promote their products. More than 420 products, including the peony painting Flowers in Flourishing Age, the glassware with "chicken oil" yellow glaze, the Mamianqun (a traditional long pleated skirt) with natural landscape patterns, and New Year woodblock prints, were exhibited along with Italian traditional handicrafts to vitalize the innovation and creativity of the handwork culture.

During the event, the inauguration ceremony of the Shandong Cultural and Trade Exchange and Display Center in Italy and the appointment ceremony of the "Handmade in Shandong" Overseas Recommendation Officer were also held.
