Shandong Provincial People's Government has recently issued the Plan for Deepening Reform and Innovation in China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, which puts forward 140 key tasks. Among them, it is the first and only time in China's pilot free trade zones to constantly deepen marine economic development and regional economic cooperation between China, Japan, and South Korea, and incorporate the major national strategies for ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin into the future development orientation.

China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone will build a leading area for ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin. It will expand the channels for TCM products in Shandong, Guangdong, and Macao to go global and promote more TCM products in the Yellow River Basin to go global together. It will build a modern industrial development cluster, promote the innovative development of the whole industrial chain of healthcare and elderly care, support multi-center clinical trials of biomedical products such as gene therapy and cell therapy, and implement mutual recognition of ethical review results. It will carry out clinical transformation and application pilots of stem cell therapy and bioartificial liver under controllable risk conditions.
